I hadn't seen the Souls fans this mad since Bloodborne was confirmed as a PS4 exclusive. And the fact that the game is mechanically different from the Dark Souls games. Nioh 2's story structure is more often than not in the way of itself, stumbling over itself and falling flat on the matter of suspension. Lol the Sekiro forums are pretty much a mass shibstorm with all the DS fans flailing about how impossible it is. Nioh 1 actually had something resembling an arc of suspense building up to a grand finale. Onboarding players with the first game to push sales of the slightly cheaper sequel is a smart move, and one that coheres neatly with Epic's overall strategy with its free games. But I really enjoyed Nioh 1's story leaps and beyond more than Nioh 2. It is likely not a coincidence that the newer game is only discounted, whereas its predecessor is entirely free.
